Description
Acid/Alkali Resistant Bricks are high-strength, chemical-resistant bricks designed for industrial applications exposed to harsh acids, alkalis, salts, and corrosive chemicals. They provide long-lasting protection for tanks, pits, drains, floors, foundations, and chemical storage areas, ensuring structural integrity even in highly aggressive environments.
These bricks are manufactured from premium refractory and chemical-resistant raw materials, offering excellent resistance to chemical attack, high temperatures, and mechanical wear. When combined with chemical-resistant mortars such as Furan, Epoxy, or Vinyl Ester Resin Mortars, they form a robust, impervious, and leak-proof lining system for industrial surfaces.
Key Features
Highly resistant to acids, alkalis, salts, and corrosive chemicals
Durable against high temperature and mechanical wear
Ideal for lining tanks, pits, drains, industrial floors, and foundations
Compatible with chemical-resistant mortars for strong adhesion
Applications
Chemical plants
industrial floors
ETP plants
storage tanks
pits
drainage systems
Chemical & Temperature Resistance
- Resistant to strong inorganic acids (except HF unless specially formulated)
- Resistant to alkalies, salts, and chloride-bearing solutions
- Can withstand thermal cycling and moderate temperatures
- Maximum service temperature: 700–1000 °C (depending on grade)
Sizes & Shapes
- Standard dimensions: 230×114×75 mm, 230×115×38 mm, or as per customer requirement
- Special shapes (L-shaped, channel, semi-circular) available for customized lining
Installation Guidelines
- Substrate must be structurally sound, clean, and level
- Lay bricks using compatible acid-resistant mortar (CNSL, Vinyl Ester, Phenolic, Epoxy, or Polyester, depending on chemical exposure)
- Maintain uniform joints (typically 2–3 mm)
- Ensure proper slope for drainage in floors or pits
- Use suitable jointing compounds for chemical sealing
