Description
High-Performance Acid & Chemical-Resistant Mortar
Phenolic Mortar is a premium acid-resistant and chemical-resistant resin mortar designed for industrial applications requiring superior durability and chemical protection. Ideal for bedding and jointing acid-resistant bricks and tiles, it provides excellent adhesion to concrete, ceramic, and metallic surfaces, making it perfect for tanks, drains, floors, foundations, and chemical processing equipment.
Formulated to withstand strong acids, alkalies, and aggressive chemical solutions, Phenolic Mortar delivers high mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and thermal stability, withstanding temperatures up to 180°C. Its self-hardening, trowelable consistency ensures uniform application, strong bonding, and long-lasting protection in harsh industrial environments.

pipelines
Chemical & Temperature Resistance
- Excellent resistance to strong inorganic acids (including HCl and Hâ‚‚SOâ‚„)
- Good resistance to chloride and saline solutions
- Limited resistance to strong alkalies and oxidizing agents
- Maximum service temperature: 160–180 °C
Surface Preparation
- Substrate must be structurally sound, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, laitance, and loose particles
- Concrete surfaces should be mechanically roughened for effective bonding
- Apply a compatible phenolic resin primer or monolithic membrane on the prepared surface
- Ensure required slopes and levels prior to lining; adjustments after application are not possible
Preparation & Mixing
Phenolic Mortar is supplied as a two-component system consisting of Resin and Filler Powder.
01
Stir the resin thoroughly before use
02
Gradually add filler powder to the resin while mixing continuously
03
Mix until a homogeneous, lump-free mortar is obtained
04
Prepare only workable quantities due to limited pot life
05
Do not alter recommended mixing ratios
Setting & Curing
- Curing occurs through a controlled chemical reaction
- Pot life at 30 °C: 15–25 minutes
- Initial set: 8–12 hours
- Light service: 24–36 hours
- Full chemical resistance: 5–7 days
- Post-curing (if specified) enhances thermal and chemical resistance
